This year, in recognition of Women in Construction Week, we are proud to spotlight one of BBG’s Special Project Analysts (SPAs) – a role that reflects both our commitment to the construction industry and the professionals who help drive successful project outcomes.
BBG is the only construction law firm in Colorado – and possibly the nation – with dedicated Special Project Analysts on our team. Our SPAs are experienced construction professionals who bring firsthand industry knowledge to complex legal matters. Their work focuses on fact investigation, project analysis, and translating real-world construction issues into clear, actionable insights that support dispute resolution.
By combining field experience with a deep understanding of construction contracts, BBG’s SPAs play a critical role in helping attorneys and clients resolve disputes efficiently and effectively.
We sat down with Christine Latham, Special Project Analyst, to learn more about her experience in the construction industry and what drew her to this unique role.

I have a civil engineering degree from Michigan State University which led me to work first in Construction Materials Testing, and then in General Contracting for eight years prior to joining BBG in 2019. I understand how construction projects operate in the field, which ultimately has shaped my interest in construction law. When a lawyer at BBG reached out to me about an analyst position, it immediately piqued my interest. It felt like a natural next step that allowed me to apply my industry experience in a new and challenging way.
Construction law can be very rewarding, especially for those who enjoy problem-solving. It truly feels like learning a new language at first, but that challenge is part of what makes the work engaging. One of the biggest differentiators, in my experience, is our clients. Construction professionals tend to be very down-to-earth, practical, and easy to work with, which makes the work both meaningful and enjoyable.
Coming from the construction industry, I have a lot of empathy for our clients. I understand firsthand how demanding construction projects can be – even the most successful ones are often stressful and require significant time, energy, and personal investment. That perspective helps me approach my work with an appreciation for what our clients are managing day-to-day, and it reinforces the importance of practical, efficient legal support.
I’m a Michigander, but have been in Colorado for 14 years now! Most of my free time is spent wrangling two young boys at this time of my life (2 and 5 years old!) around mountain activities in Eagle, Colorado… whether that be ski lessons, biking, or playing at parks. When I have my own time, you can usually find me reading or listening to audiobooks!
