Corey earned his J.D. from the Sturm College of Law where he received multiple Scholastic Excellence Awards and earned a certificate in Intellectual Property and Technology Law. He contributed to the Denver Journal of International Law & Policy as a staff editor and wrote various pieces on International Human Rights. During his last semester of law school, he was grateful to secure an externship with a Former Chief Judge at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. His externship on the Tenth Circuit provided valuable insight into the workings of an Appellate Court.
Throughout law school, Corey worked as a law clerk to one of the country’s foremost construction experts. During his time as a clerk, he co-authored and edited supplements for authoritative legal texts on both construction damages and surety claims. Prior to law school he worked as a Laboratory Engineer developing hydraulic fracturing fluid and oilfield cement for the World’s largest oilfield services company.
Corey gained experience in intellectual property law through his first role out of law school at a firm where he prosecuted patents, trademarks, and assisted with an appellate patent infringement case. However, Corey grew up in a Colorado construction family and had always been drawn to construction litigation. He decided to switch gears and make the move from IP to BBG.
Corey’s legal practice embodies a combination of technical proficiency, financial acumen, and legal expertise. He is committed to offering his clients strategic counsel and personalized solutions. Corey is licensed to practice in Colorado and in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
